Tarot

The Tarot consists of 78 cards with various symbols on them. The cards have been historically used to solve problems, meditate, visualize, and divination. Many theories suggest that the Tarot originates from the Ancient Egyptians, passed in secret through the traveling gypsies and made its way into Europe. There is no evidence to support these theories, and factually, the earliest evidence of these cards may be found in Northern Italy in the mid fifteenth century. The main Tarot deck consists of 22 Major Arcana and four suits of 14 cards. The Tarot formed the first basis of what would later become the regular deck of playing cards and the Loteria in Spain/Mexico.
