Rosicrucianism

Rosicrucianism is an early secret society of mystics dating back to the early 1600’s in Germany.
The earliest published manuscripts date back to the mysterious
Christian Rosenkreuz, long thought
to be a fictional character. Its teachings quickly spread across Europe and later gave rise to what
would be known as the Rosicrucian Enlightenment. The main principles being perpetuated were that
of unknown secretive brotherhood, and of unlimited spiritual unfoldment for each individual.
This impacted a lot theological thinking in the late medieval period and influenced many individuals
such as John Dee, Robert Fludd, Sir Francis Bacon, Johannes Kepler, and Isaac Newton.
Because there was no direct lineage of Rosicrucians, there began many offshoots directly based
on the Manifesto’s by Christian Rosenkreuz including Freemasonry and many other modern
orders dating between the 1800’s and 1900’s.
Ad Rosam per Crucem; Ad Crucem per Rosam
In eaeis gemmatus, resurgam
Non Nobis, Non Nobis, Domine
Sed nominis tui gloriae solae
Translation:
Attaining the Rose through the way of the Cross; Attaining the Cross through the way of the Rose
In this way, adorned, I shall be resurected
Not for us, Not for us, Oh! Lord,
But for the sole glory of Thy name.
