About: Zonbi recorded their first LP in a poorly-lit garage filled with fragrant couches and black mold. it is proving to be a tedious process as they perfect their recording techniques and recipes involving cabbage and democracy... A long time ago, when bread tasted better and senior citizens were feared, a thriving hobo-voodoo culture emerged from the shadows of humid warehouses in New Orleans...and south San Jose. After several brushes with death, including an incident involving waffle fries & and the Happy Hollow Petting Zoo, Jeerad focused his priorities on songwriting and poor hygiene. Ultimately, he teamed up with multi-instrumentalist/voodoo fundamentalist Fernando to collaborate on a musical project that seemed as impossible as a sequel to "Titanic". Together, they drew influences from the abundant population of local hobos and unlicensed voodoo priests that permeate the South Side of San Jose... Band interests : When they aren't playing music, you can find them involved in a number of activities, not limited to being unemployed and adequately clothed... Jeerad enjoys visiting the local Carpeteria Flooring Center, mainly because he likes "the sensory overload of all those different shapes and textures..." and because he's "always wondered what it's like to have a floor." Fernando spends his free time conducting research on Lemuria and other strange phenomena, such as dogs that walk backwards, public swimming pools "that seem to appear out of nowhere", and sightings of apparitions at local light rail stations in San Jose. He smiles relentlessly, like a freight train filled with sunshine and bronze medals. |
